The Content thread
Everyone says they want new content but very few explain what that content would be.
How about putting some dot points of what content you want?

As I think of it I'll dot point the best things of games I've played.

- UO: Champion spawns, removing the alignment hit on gravestones after they have been there for 15 minutes, housing customisation, skill cap model was good also
- Lineage2: Castle seiging was epic, the sign up model for seiging worked well, dungeon runs were excellent also, as were the markets, alignment system worked well also
- WoW: only things I liked were the raid progression and some of the battlegrounds, rest was meh
- Secret World - awesome content with interesting quests, rest was ordinary though
- Lord of the Rings Online - great raid content, the moors was always pretty crap


What I would like to see in Darkfall: UO's champion spawns, gravestones free to loot after 15 minutes, better housing, titles increased to 5+2 with a month being the time to max out a new one, tweaks to Darkfall seiging to make it as much fun as the Lineage2 ones, more interesting quests.

How about this for a suggestion: Have two factors for improving a spawn.
1. Number of people - increases spawn rate - as is
2. Number of mobs killed in a set time (say 5 minutes) ups the Mob Rank - i.e. difficulty and rewards.

Let me explain by example:
You go to say hobgoblins. You kill the first one. A timer message then says if you kill 20 more in the next 5 minutes they will upgrade to Rank II.
You kill the 20. Mobs become Rank II. They double their loot but are twice as hard to kill.
You get a message that if you kill 15 more Rank II mobs in the next 5 minutes they will spawn Rank III.
You do it.
Rank  III spawn. They look bigger and again are twice as hard to kill. You see a message that if you kill all 5 that spawned in 5 minutes they will drop a treasure map (or equivalent). You kill all 5.
The Rank IV boss mob spawns. Twice as hard to kill again. Drops a chest that gives 5k meditation and a +5 instant skill gain (any skill) scroll.

* Runestones made useful as they are a rare drop and useless right now
* Sea towers added back into the game
* Trade routes being put back into the game or made worthwhile
* Faster mounts or faster travel on roads asap!
* 1 supernode like in DFUW put in the middle of the map to fight over
* Take out spawn sounds (or lower the spawn sound by 50%) for monsters so that you can surprise the enemy or be suprised by the enemy
* Add durability loss on gank
* Caravans for transporting large amounts of items around the map
* Reduce Large and Medium map drops to make them rarer and worth doing

* Rare drops, ingots, ore, items made rarer as the game is currently flooded with high end gear and items

* Ultra rare resources for R80 weapons added back into the game for Aldaruk r80 Greataxe etc (maybe 1 per Demon kill)

* Gorra Dar is an amazing experience for players even some vets think its a great mob, however it drops only 1 rare ore at a low rate, it should drop 1 rare ingot instead of 1 rare ore

* ADVERTISE THE GAME, MARKET THE GAME AND INCREASE THE POPULATION!

It's not like Ub3rgames is short on good ideas. Their problem is implementing them all in a timely manner. New content ideas from the community at this point is about as useless a contribution to the games future as all the troll posts.  Seriously, what's the point when Ub3rgames still hasn't implemented all the basics that should have been there at launch?

A skill/stat cap would be so cool but so many people shoot that idea down anytime it get brought up. It'd work even better with the current armor traits.

In UO it was a skill in itself to be able to fine tune your skills and stats contingent on your playstyle or what you were wearing

probably 5% of this thread is text about PVP if that, that pretty much sums up the mentality of these boards and game direction in general, playing a full loot conquest game like single player carebears.

Traderoutes
Dungeons that dont suck
Big mobs dropping unique shit like r80 mats
Aoi
Relics
Dyes
Casinos ingame
Anything that doesnt require traveling for 2 hours
Better quests
Pve tasks to get new mount skins ( ie crog mounts that carry 2000kg)
Less tedium to getting shit crafted, making gearbags is content to me (but it takes hours of traveling)
Leaderboards with seasons and rewards at the end (not only pvp boards)

Faster Roads

wipe and relaunch once the alpha phase is complete
I dueled him once and was in control first half of the fight and then food buff wore out and not noticing lost, so he did win but hes by no means any better a player than I.

Trade routes - Buy packs at one point, turn it in across the world, get "trade points", trade "trade points" for stuff(ench mats, R80 mats etc.etc.) at a special NPC

Seatowers - Blue area, clans that deal at least 5% damage participate in control, winning clan and its racial alliance members that participated get 25k med points each+some items, others get 5k med points each.

I like OP's suggestion about mob ranks, makes it less of a grind and more of an event.

Buy orders

More fleshed out quests, preferably quest lines that culminate in some good rewards

Pretty much everything @inkarnation said. Functional leaderboards for epeen. Reduce tedium (I want to play not fucking get online to a second job)

yep totally need more mobspawn scaling so you can farm even better with 50 alts in some corner of a map because nobody bothers going there

Asheron's call had some meaningful quest lines that took time and compelled you to go in different areas that were far from each other, refining ore, delivering items etc, all connected in a fairly long chain of tasks....perhaps a "temporarily" (1 week) no drop item or an overpowered (but low durability) weapon as reward

Other content could be a sort of racial based weekly "siege"(like) event (or maybe two events, so that players in different time zones can participate at at least one of them), that will give the winning side meditation and some rare mats....with a racial tower guarded gathering place for each race and then a starting time and one specific objective for all to fight over.

Would love a land tower center of the map
Reality Check - Rise of Agon : Community designed, Tedium free, Elite approved  but struggled to field 25 players for first grand anniversary event...now asking for donations.  Global banking,  Instant travel is not helping lol

this isnt suddenly going to make 1000 new players appear. people are really not interested in playing a game on a dated 2005 engine anymore, the % of people that are interested in games similar to darkfall have probably already played it, or heard of it and heard all the shit associated to the brand name and are just not interested at all. Kids are a huge portion of the gaming market, what makes you think this game would be attractive to a 16 year old at all? That generation just wants instant gratification from games.
