What these games have in common with Darkfall (any iteration) is that the PvP engagements require solid communication within your team alongside good individual player skill. PUBG squad fights actually feel very similar to a 4v4 in a Darkfall game when looking at the team dynamics.

Games like PUBG offer what Darkfall games excel at; engaging PvP combat, but minus all forms of tedium. This is why I still believe UW was the best Darkfall at a shot at becoming successful, it was the least tedious Darkfall-inspired game with a focus on quick access to PvP and PvE action... If only it had competent management.

We should get rid of the tediousness (is that a word lel?) At the end of the day people want to play games for fun, they are stressed from work and we must make darkfall a fun pvp and pve game.

Also make it have a good sense of progression (dopamine makes ppl feel good and keep playing)

It's been obvious for a while now that New Dawn is not going this direction.

I'm left pondering what is keeping me here, to be honest. Granted I haven't logged in to actively play for a few days now.

gaming is going downhill in recent years

PUBG is utter dogshit for anyone that requires any kindve mental stimulation, it also has too much RNG to be competitive, which is why its several attempts at creating a competitive scene have fallen flat on its face.

Most of the fun in Darkfall comes from its uniqueness, but, its been around for 10 years, with a lot of the same bugs and balance problems that have existed for 10 years, and even DND is missing a fuckload of QOL changes, some of them because they are too stuck up to do what ROA did correctly.

The only game that i consistently look forward to, and this has been the only one that has lived up to my expectations every time, is Path of Exile. I highly recommend anyone give it a try. New content every 3-4 months, consistently, and of high quality.

Path of exile is great, but I have to skip every other league or I'll grind myself to death.

haha i got bored of path of exile 15 years ago when I was playing diablo 2. But it was free so I got it and tried it. It was basically just an item grinder.  You go around and kill monsters that sprinkle countless items to the ground all of which you've got to check for utility. In a given run you've probably checked hundreds of items and that is probably the dullest gameplay I can imagine but not as dull as spending hours staring at the skill screen trying to puzzle together a decent build because every great game should have you tinkering away at a skill screen just to form a spec. It was pretty good given how bad the genre was, which i find perplexing since the content is over 20 years old.

It's an online casino.

Still fun to make coolbuilds and slaughter thousands of monsters tho. It's rather satisfying.

This is DND, not any other iteration of DF. Everything is slower, and more local. It is the way it is.

I play Darkfall and Escape from Tarkov.. that is also full loot pvp. Those games listed by OP are mehh.. okayish games but they get dull quickly..
escape from tarkov is a gun masturbate simulator, I don't know how you find that interesting.

Escape from tarkov is the first legit game out in the last few years. They fix their net code problems and they have a real monster on their hands. It's PUBG+MMO style for adults

Path of Exile adds monster collecting. So its like a hardcore pokemon game.

PoE and the amount of stuff  they added and its quality is simply amazing. If all Dev's would be like GGG we would see awesome games.
Darkfall is the best experience on PC with my pants not unzipped.

LOL they'll never fix their netcode. It's had a 2+ second delay since early Alpha, and they only acknowledged it after the Netcode analysis video, and even then, the COO's first response was to call Chris from Battlenonsense a liar/claim he has ulterior motives.

They make web-based shooters, they don't have a fucking clue.

Scummiest russian devs since Sergey Titov.

I agree it is partly gun porn.. but the PvP is good and gets your blood pumping. It is really satisfying to kill a group of heavy geared players and loot the shit and try to survive with it. Have you tried the game?

Yeah I'm sure they have. Game totally doesn't smell like War Z 2.0 with that cash shop shit. Gtfo with this aids cancer bullshit.
