Any logs in game that can be used to prove innocence of a crime?

That depends on what you did (or didn't). If you did something it's more likely to be in log than if you didn't though.

That would do I think, need to prove I did NOT take items from a ganked player corpse and hand the items to the ganker .

There are no public logs of that kind.

So they already got you into "guilty until proven otherwise" mindset I see. Why wouldn't a ganking player be able to loot himself?

ALL your concerns will be 100% fixed in DnD.
