Game Art, new models, textures, special effects..
There are so many great changes to the game, reading through the http://darkfallnewdawn.com/new-dawn-in-a-nutshell/
right now and.. got me curious if down the line.. the artwork will be getting improvements... and I dont mean like overhauls but just gentle nudges in the right direction.. question mark.

I think there should be * stars next to the features that are being developed and launched first so that people don't get the idea that you're promising too much.

A roadmap will come down the line so that people get an idea of priorities and estimates.
But that will happen a few weeks after we get access to the source code.
It wouldn't be reasonable to be launch a roadmap straight away.

And for art. Yes we'll overhaul the graphics as budget alllows.
We've started to arrange contacts with outsourcing studios.
We want to keep it that way so we keep operating costs manageable.

We have the luck to have a lot of "good enough" assets by getting DFO, so we need to focus on content and mechanics first.

Performance first. they pushed the graphics for DF UW and as a result, the performance was overerall terrible even for those with a top of the line gaming PC's.

Well, our first step is to see what we can improve performance wise.
Here and there we mentioned that there would be no functional changes during the first 2 months as we learn the code base and do some refactoring. This means that we'll be adding a lot of reporting tools and then try to improve how things run.

Darkfall was designed between 2002 and 2006, a lot of new techniques have emerged since then and we should be able to improve it at least a bit. We can't make any promises of course, but we'll certainly try.

Then we'll be able to improve the graphics by using the framerate/cpu budget those improvements will provide.

SweetFX  small adjustments and it will look nice at low cost of time ;-)
