What is ban worthy in Darkfall: New Dawn?
On exploiting:
Any action that should not feasibly be possible for your character but not altering the game client or third parties is considered exploiting.
We may in some occasion tolerate a specific exploit when it isn't realistically enforceable.
A specific case does NOT invalidate the general rule.

On monsters:
If your targets is stuck and cannot damage you while you can do damage to it non stop, then it is exploiting.
The spirit of the law being to not entirely remove risk and player input from PvE.

These 3 simple factors will be looked at:
- Stuck either through physics or aggro.
- Cannot damage you.
- You can hit it consistently without efforts.

Alternatively, any form of automation that results in risk free skill gains will be cause for an immediate and permanent ban.

Punishment:
The first time you get caught, you will be warned. The second time will be a permanent ban.
All types of exploiting count in the same way and a warning is permanent, including post launch.

On hacking/cheating:
Altering the game client, its communication with the server or using a third party program to gain an advantage is considered cheating.
Any attempt of cheating will result in a direct permanent ban.

On in game and in forums moderation:
For the following rules, we will punish only on an offended party's report
Regardless of report, we will edit and clear out private information as fast as we can.

Direct permanent ban of game and forum account:
- Using real life information not publicly available in a way that is obviously to harass another player.
- Using the image of another player in a derogatory way and without consent.

Warning, with a second offense becoming a permanent ban of game and forum account:
- Using publicly available real life information in a way that is obviously to harass another player.

The spirit of the law is to avoid potential escalations. You may fight, but keep it online and Darkfall focused.

In general:
In general, you may read our terms of service to know more about what you need to abide by.
When a specific punishment has not been stated, we will follow the generic rule of one warning, then a permanent ban.

Update as of January 28th 2018 at 10:44AM CET:
On monsters:
"Alternatively, any form of automation that results in risk free skill gains will be cause for an immediate and permanent ban."

This rule is a catch all for any form of successful or attempted automated skill gains.
In very short, for our Live environment, macroing is ban worthy.

There is currently a way to avoid being sieged through abandoning holdings by anticipations despite being at war.
A fix is being worked on, and until deployed, any holding manually abandoned while at war will be transferred to their enemies.
Losing a holding through the upkeep mechanic is not covered by this. If the holding is lost out of debt it remains free for all.
Please, spread the word.
