Quality of Life List

    There's been a lot of quality of life suggestions on the forums which at least i find fantastic, since this is what makes the game feel less clunky and make the game more intuitive for new players.

    I will keep this updated when new suggestions comes in either in this post or other posts to keep it easy for us as a community to keep track of changes to QoL and try to mitigate re-posts of things already suggested.

    ###  Confirmed by developers:  ###

    • New map
    • Changing the texture of empty reacource nodes, iron, stone, wood and bushes.
    • Give an r0 of every weapon type to new characters so you can gain skill and see options right away. (heliumbox)
          (Undroppable weapons can skill up to lvl 20, and we consider allowing players to select their favored melee weapon at character creation.)
    • Making it so when you move when looting a grave will break you out of looting screen (Ruthlessfish)
         (This is a good idea. We'll add it to the QoL list.)
    • More crosshair options
          (Crosshairs "... ", it will happen, but not right now.
    • Remove the need to equip looted arrows.
    • Add extra clan vault layers that can only be access by certain ranks. (Galak)
         (Reworking the clan management and rights is planned, including clan vaults levels.)
    • Faster movement on roads (_SeeD_)
    • A pack mule system that gives mounts inventories. (Ub3r)
    • Auto replacement logic for items on the hotbar (Falesh)
         (It is already planned. For items too, with an auto replacement logic in case you do not have what has been selected anymore.)

    ###  Addressed but not confirmed or rejected:  ###

    • Add some of all basic nodes in or very near each starter city for starter quests. (heliumbox)
         (We'll make harvesting for a tutorial quest be an auto success, to teach the principle without the frustration.)
    • Increase the spawn rate of low level monsters (Prometheus)
         We will review mob spawns and their frequency over time, as we fine tune the rules for spawn scaling.)
    • Changing the tombstone particle effect depending on looted or skinned status (Bomanz)
    • Selling gear sets (stee7l)
         (It is indeed low priority, but was suggested in the past and is a planned feature.)
    • Organizing the Input Bindings menu (BlackSun)
         (Chaotic menus will get their day of reckoning.)
    • Organizing the spells and skills menus
         (Our idea is that rather than have skills and spells, we'll have passives and active abilities.  We'll also try to hide what you do not own and show the
          skill levels better.)
    • A new-player or help chat to help new players find there way around (lotuscoti)
    • The ability to drop items onto bags to add it to the bag. (lotuslocti)

    ###  Unaddressed suggestions:  ###

    • Tool-tips for food,at the moment you can only see this in the cooking-station tool-tip
    • Having the Journal and clan windows not in a web interface to reducing the load times drastically.
    • Being able to buy crafting reagents in outposts you can buy arrows, but not mage-user ammo
    • Overhead chat, making talking in spawns more viable.
    • Right click names in chat to party invite, friend request ect (Nat)
    • Give a player bank-GUI a toggle to switch the window size of the personal bank from the compact version we have now to clan vault size.(Bomanz)
    • Speeding up the cast time for Skinning, crafting and despawning mounts (Bomanz)
    • Potion and food cool down visibility (heliumbox)
    • The ability to see the owner of the mount, even if the timer has expired (heliumbox)
    • Simplified social menus commands (heliumbox)
    • Easier access for low level gear from vendors (heliumbox)
    • Add resin to the loot tables of low level shamans (heliumbox)
    • Add NPC labels on the map for banks and crafting stations. (heliumbox)
    • Crafting orders - UW style (heliumbox)
    • Increase max crafting amount from 100 to 500-1000. (45s)
    • Right click names in chat to party invite, friend request ect. (Nat)
    • Add reagent cost on spells in the spell tool tip
    • Add damage type as tool tip for weapons and spells
    • Dismounting/depsawning mount with unsheathed weapons (gosti)
    • Trading with unsheathed weapons (gosti)
    • Buff and skill duration cooldown and duration timers (gosti)
    • Being able to select a spell or skill even when your weapon is sheathed(Falesh)
    • Add a directional arrow on the map and mini-map to show which direction you're facing (Bomanz)
    • Change default attack for a weapon by dragging a spell from your skillbar (atm it only works from spellbook) (Foobar)
    • Ergonomic option for us older gamers: automatically knock in an arrow, or preload the spell and hold it, then release on click.(Foobar)
    • Indicator for weapon durability in weapons bar. Warning for low dura equipment.(Foobar)
    • Remember opened bags in bank.(Foobar)
    • Mount facing always in the direction the player looked when spawned(Foobar)
    • Showing durabliy on the paperdoll, removing the need to mouse over every piece (Searven)
    • Moving the Ping and FPS counters to it's own gui window (Bomaz)
    • Option to un-sheath items when swapping to it in the weaponbar
    • The option to have a sound play whenever something is written in the public chat.
    • A timer for buff and de-buffs on the icons at the top of the screen (cottoneyejoe104)
    • A separation of buffs and de-buffs at the top of the screen
    • Add spells, spell upgrades, skills and skill upgrade purches as scrolls (or other item).
          (The reason is to help new clan members and red players)
    • Auto equip and un-sheath the appropriet tool when using a node. (Bomaz 19/7/2016)
    • Adding an on-screen keyboad for keybinds where you can drop and drag spells and skills on to the key and click it to assign functunality.(Par 22/7/2016)
    • Togglable notification for stat gains with the option to notify on every 0.1, 0.2, 1.0 etc.

    ###  Rejected suggestions;  ###

    • Bring town NPCs closer together, takes fucking forever to navigate some cities. (heliumbox)
         (NPCs need privacy too! And town should be used differently once we introduce player housing and market places.)
    • Bind-stone and house recall
         (Will not be added)
    • Add staves to more npc vendors. (heliumbox)
         (May not be necessary.)
    • Regional banking
          (Does not adhere to the Ub3rs vision of what DnD should be.)

      
      
    ### Implemented Suggestions ###
    • The ability to hold down the mouse button for auto attacks, at a reduced rate of fire
    • Auto looting
         (Some form of auto looting is confirmed, the exact details are not)
    • Bag sorting options, (# system suggested by Fnights)
      (Some sort of bag sorting system will be put in place)
      (From FAQ: Salvaging skill, pick a bag and gain around 50% of crafting mats back.)
    • The risk of clan and party killing need to be made more obvious to newer players (_SeeD_)
      (Yes, the risks of joining a party or clan should be made more apparent "..." There also needs to be a way to quit a clan/party quickly and in these cases the towers would have taken care of it.)
    • Giving us the abiliy to auto-cast attack with seige hammers to reduce the need to spam click when using them (Par 22/7/2016)
    • Having all disabling blows/shots share the same hotkey. (Par 30/7/2016)
    • Making selling of multiple items of the same kind easier(Ninogan)
    • Loot window appearing in the same place.
    • Added quests in starter zones for new player to get a mount.
    • Being able to drink potions and eat food during rest (you can also equip items during rest)
    • Fixing the default behavior of weapons just unsheathe to be the normal attack
         (Uniformisation of the sheathe / unsheathe behavior is on the short term todo.)
    • All Lesser magic for all. (or at least transfers) (heliumbox)
         (Stamina to Health at lvl 10. Mana to Stamina at lvl 20. Health to Mana at lvl 30.)
    • Mouse smoothing is deactivated by default.
    • Re-enable the shadow of last equipped item on the hotbar (Bomaz).
    • Diminishing returns, to put a large dent into the perception of grind.
        which will make the early-on stats more valueble then the later stats. (Ub3r)

    Bank QOL:  Give a GUI toggle to switch the window size of personal bank from the compact version we have now to clan vault size.

    This one is debateable but I would like to see certain actions sped up under the following logic:  Is there already a limitation to the action?  Then speed it up.  Example:

    1.  Skinning.  Tombstones are limited.  You have to kill mobs for them to appear.  You are often under attack while skinning.

    2.  Crafting.  You are already limited by how many resources you have.  Crafting duration feels so grindy it's from the 1999 Everquest era.  On the other hand this would affect risk while crafting. 

    3.  Unspawning mounts.  Is there a GOOD reason for it taking so long to unspawn mounts? 

    I would like to see all of these activities sped up by 30-40%.  However it may be a good idea to have them sped up through the titles.

    Food and potion cool down visability.

    Mount ownership timer when off.

    Simplified social menu/commands.

    Easier access to low level gear/weapons. Beyond what quests give it is very time consuming to replace simple gear with more than cloth. Higher than r10 2hweapons are almost non existent in low level spawns, 200g a weapon is to much for a new player buying skills.

    Consider small increase in low level gold drops, playing casually(but knowing how to play) I can not keep up with buying skills compared to meditation speeds. I probably have less than 50% of just the spells I want living paycheck to paycheck.

    Add small amounts of resin to low level shamans, it is one of the most important regs but not apart of the loot table.

    Add labels to map for bank and oven.

    Reduce hour quests to 30-45 mins. There are very few newby spawns worth staying at for an hour, encourage people to move on sooner and continue questing. (And the bonus is a joke)

    Crafting orders, if u don't want me to craft (and I don't want) allow me to safely put mats up for someone who wants to take care of it while I do what I want.

    Reduce the cost of read to 200-500, low level spells ud get from scrolls cost so little compared to read it really isn't worth using the scroll which should be a happy bonus but rots in your bank instead.

    Do something about alts, the advantages they give is just unreal.

    Allow items to be dropped into bags directly instead of having to open the bag first by placing the item on a bag.  Toggleable in options?

    Maybe renaming the sack using tags it will behave in this way:

    #gear - when you drop gear into your backpack will move automatically into this sack
    #reagents - same as gear
    #skinning - same as gear
    #mount - same as gear

    You can also using multiple tags to move more different items into the same bag.

    Also add salvaging skill that can only be unlocked through a title system so only dedicated crafters or people that invest in this title can use it.

    I want to dismount with my weapon out. Same with despawning a mount or trading someone.

    Another sheathe/unsheathe thing that would be great: When you have a staff equipped but sheathed and you select a spell then unsheathe the staff and select that spell.

    Already on the list, although no specifics.

    I want to dismount with my weapon out. Same with despawning a mount or trading someone.

    Dismounting/despawning mounts with wepons out added,
    Buff icons issues is for Issues/buggs section of the forums.
    Buff and skill timer tooltips added to the list.
