I cant believe everyone seems to think this is fine, there is no diversity with these changes
Definitely disagree with your opinion, honestly....to me this fight was much more skilled-based and diverse than any fight i witnessed/partecipated in df1.

In original df1 ALL fights were: WOF, instant ray machinegun, magma, instant machinegun, double whirlwing, eyerot.....rinse/repeat

In this fight he used r50/r90/ray/wof/confusion/leeches/begone/knockback/launch and had to face different situations, which he was able to survive to due to him being always able to use the right spell at the right moment, and not just the usual fireball/magma absurd knockups to keep distance.
You forgot tornado. Why does everyone forget that cool spell? You also forgot those debuffs he did.

There are lots of different playstyles going around, the game is much more diverse. The pvp mechnincs (with some minor tweaks) are very cool right now. The only thing we need is content really. New stuff to explore.

What do you mean by diversity? Diversity between builds? Or diversity in terms of ongoing combat options. Probably the latter, as indeed as a pure mage he is forced to use only magic and it feels like he's limited in his choices during fights. Well, he actually is - by titles (some spells not available) and armor traits (there is no melee when specced pure mage). So it's same shit over and over again.

Most here perceived your comment as "dnd lacks diversity between builds", which is for sure not true as this is first darkfall that actually made mages have different sets of tools based on title choices. It's not much, but still it's at least as diverse (i'd say more) than original dfo when it comes to builds. Price for this though was pretty high - removal of large portion of what we loved about darkfall combat (fight dynamic, different fight paths based on distance games).

But I agree with you totally that forced specialization makes videos look boring, especially when you compare it to RoA (or original darkfall). It looks like combat from the beginning till the end is same shit, with no twists (no matter the surroundings, terrain, distance between players).

But tbh this is what it comes to - opinions. It's different now. In theory you can go hybrid, and play "kind of" old darkfall - watch Mantra for example. Still though it does not look as spectacular as original dfo. Maybe that's it - tools that were a problem (everyone having WoF, magma, fireball) where at the same time most spectacular. So they had to go, and now we have this. You can't say that what Gosti showed is not a skill based play style though. It's more player skill based than what we had before. Or at least same if you consider smaller knock-ups we have now as same shit that we had before (at least there is a trade of of speed vs effect magnitude).

They overdid the pure vs hybrid disproportion in my opinion but well, this is just my opinion.

ask kamillo about music for your next video. He had a good taste for music

Totally. But I'm too lazy to add any music. I also prefer in-game sound.
People who don't enjoy music have no soul.

No point trying to figure out why rawrgasm is displeased with the game. He played already and had his fun, albeit during the time when every mage had one school of magic at 100 and he was a maxed melee/archer but that was his choice.

I believe him when he says he's done with the game but using combat as the excuse is a better option to take.
Fair enough ill be there, Actually can we do it Thurs

Watercane build, solo, mostly open world 1v1s.

I think it's not about the build, but the way of playing, high sensitivity going melee range with staff against range. That puts ppl off I guess. You could have done that with any school of magic against the first few opponents you encountered.

Couldn't watch the fight with Rain until end, too long, but I heared it was a good fight.

Don't know where your getting at with this comment sounds like a shit attempt at a diss knowing full well I would flawless you in a fight.

It really speaks volumes when majority of people in this thread think nothing is wrong are the people still playing when the game is on its last legs literally 30 people playing, game is being forced to close down soon because ub3r cant pay the royalties to AV for the license, wake up.

Im sorry but if you really think only 30 people still play this game, you have your head so far up your ass all you see is the bullshit lined up to come out your mouth.

What I think are pretty honest numbers are something like 200 daily different IPs, over a week more like 350-400 and over a month more like 500-750, meaning numbers of different people logging in and playing for some x hours in that time frame. There are a lot of people not playing everyday but over the course of a week or a month there are still quite a few people putting some hours in.
