Mage is 100% more fun to play.

In current meta? Meh not really. Just spam nukes/aoes on cooldown. Hardly fun long term.

Reason why it's more fun is cause the possibility to go deep into enemy and still pull out with movement spells. Like what Don Kamillo did. Now if I could use that efficiently movement with leather set I would agree both styles are as fun but currently if you want to solo fool around mage style is the only way to go. Since even in leather your movement casts are too slow and you have to cast unburden before doing them or other wise mages just jump you down.

If they only changed cantrip school spells to work the same for all styles would be so great. Also mages couldbt then just ran from physical style when ever they feel like it.

Sending the Darkfall server to NY would be remembered in history as the greatest gift from France to the USA, right above the Statue of Liberty.

You do know that most of the players that play games don't ever post the forums? Many don't even ever read the forums. They've shared where the data comes from and clearly they see the sales. There is already one DF server on NA and it ain't doing any better with population so nothing supports the hypothesis that NA server would give more population.
Again, I personally never gave a care where the server location was but it's biased to think moving the server to NA wouldn't have had any impact. I'm glad you were dumb enough to use RoA as an example because we both can agree that both games are currently in dire straights with low populations.

Let's go back and compare launch numbers though.
RoA started off with close to 10k actual players and dropped easily to about 5k (maybe even more) after just two weeks because of the shitty lag issues.

New Dawn started off with close to 3k real players (and maybe another 500-1000 alts and that's an underestimation). After two weeks the drop off really wasn't that bad because the game was playable but the moment the time gated crafting began unlocking r50 gear, we quickly started seeing the AltFall clans outdue the average player and small clans eventually making them quit.

At the end of the day, the server location wouldn't have changed the results we see today but it's clear that the server location would have affected initial launch numbers. If you actually think it wouldn't have then your bias is allowing you to use RoA as an example in comparison for the now but not for the aspects that make your argument weak in comparison.

Well you are throwing in numbers which are your own estimates and can't really use them in any way since I don't have access to real data. Didn't play roa launch so can't really say from own experience what's the launch was like in numbers but would still be hard to compare against new dawn with just the feel of game when in roa all races and all player were able to stand in one city and other version every one were all around the map with out fast travel. So there for sure would be bias on the feel of population.

But still the numbers Ubergames have is the only concrete data we have .  They made call on server location by using it.

Now had dnd launched NA there is no saying numbers would have been better. There might not have been much more NA guys playing since so many seemed to be too off by local banking but there for sure would have been a lot less EU players which is the biggest audience in dnd. Now this very well could have turn into worse launch population than it had now. It was also known that which ever version of DF would launch first would get higher population at launch since so many would just want to play DF with live server after so many years of absence of DF. And many that already started roa didn't want to invest time for yet another DF launch.

But all this is speculation and claims that dnd would have had better/worse launch numbers on NA are only personal views of players. But in the end there is no real data that supports claims NA launch would have had grater numbers or that it would have helped ndn in any way. It very well could have caused worse launch than they had now.
I'm glad you're at least able to see how biased your view is especially since you didn't play RoA launch to compare. The RoA launch numbers were given via discord by Neik on day 3 and being that I've personally played DFO launch, it's fair to say even if they were taking a page out of Ub3r's book and embellishing those numbers that it was damn close. Please also keep in mind that every holding was captured on RoA by the end of week one yet DnD went into launch with many still being up for grabs and may not have ever been all captured at once at any given time.

I agree local banking could play a factor in perception but even playing from your side of the fence let's just hypothetically state that both games started with the same population (even though anyone who played both launches knows this is far from the truth). It's a far more damning feat to look at the progress and population of where New Dawn was at the end of month 2 compared to the progress and population of RoA at the end of its month 2. None of this matters to you personally because you didn't play RoA and your bias fuels your subjective views. I personally like the combat and action queing system of DnD over RoA but that doesn't stop me from calling it like it is.

There definitely isn't enough stats to say server placement would've changed the outcome of anything but if you're going to use RoA as any type of gauge when you've never fucking played it then you'd better be ready to argue the weak parts of your arguments. I personally believe RoA had a higher population boom at launch than DnD specifically because it launched first, it had many "surprises" from beta, it filled the nostalgia void better, it had more added features (poor ones but still attracted players).

Roa server is now stable? I assume? Starting issues have been solved they giving free playtimes for every one new interested of playing. Yet they don't have population. Server is NA, there is fast travel, global banking, fast leveling etc. So most of the things you say is failing in DnD. Now you say Roa took it too extreme there but still its alot closer to what you say would be good for DF than Dnd is.

For this reason Roa can be shown as reference point since it's now stable server with global banking and NA server. But it ain't doing any better so server location aint the factor this game is failing at. Roa probably had better starting population and great factor to it is that they got to live state first of the too literations. But to say Dnd would have had better launch at NA there aint no real data to support that claim and that's the only point I'm saying here.

The thing is you all the time claim you say just how things are but you are very blind to your own bias. Many things you claim as facts are just your personal feelings and takes on the matters. But it seems we do agree on that server location ain't the reason DF is failing.

Anyways this is no offense against roa I want them to succeed as I want dnd too. Just raise it to comparison since its good reference point when examining how much did server location affect population.

Rats killed and looted both side i think.. (and rats in this siege means kamillo,  so it dont count as a clan...)

I joined the party when siegestones went live and it was messy on our side: many players from the horde died before the siege begins, so most of them were riding alone /naked hopping to reach quarendel .. I dont know what happened before, but gather back a party ready to the fight was an issue so i asked the 3 painkillers there to help us and take back the hamlet until the horde were able to bring gear and take position in the hamlet. 

I havent see any other clan during the siege so i dont see what part of server dunnin is talking about...

Firstly not here to complain but are you serious with that comment?

French connection was the clan taking the hamlet back for horde along with painkillers. Then in the end there were scrubs, painkillers, French connection, horde and some other Alfar clans that directly fought in hamlet along side with Horde. Again not complaining since was really fun back and forth fight for couple of hours.

Side note. Fighting was really fun and this long back and forth fight gave a good look how much better combat is in big fights when not every one can blind cast aoes etc. Now if they ever get to balance WoF I think group fighting is already in a good place and a lot of fun. Fingers crossed they can survive this liquidation process since game is moving in right direction.

Writing this from phone so can't see signature but if you are French connection then only added clans that fought with you guys were the Alfars from scrubs painkillers and that one other clan that name just can't recall atm. Rats didn't fight for either side. Just made it bit hard for us when we started loosing people and they were getting killed at siegestone By Kamillo while trying to regear and get back to fighting.

They care about subs. GM Mark online and he answering on gm-pages and will do racechange, if you have ticket.
They coming after serious unrest and give us some answer on hot thread.

Think yourself. If they had abandoned the game completely - they would not have been interested in entering the game by GM and somehow supporting it. Its pretty clear. They continue to work on game. They continue support game. They have thrown all their efforts into the development and will not make small patches. That's the right decision (Although, even if they make a huge patch - still people will cry a lot, lol).

What would you choose - the development of the game, or the frequent answers on the forum? They directly stated this many times. When you have two people on the team and you have to support the game (like gm), deal with the system of payment and development, it takes a lot of time.

I was engaged in the creation, development and supporting few several game shards (daoc, uo, ro). I was admin and gm and I know, what I'm talking about. The priorities are obvious. In severe cases, they respond. So just stop beating in hysterics. Everything is normal. Do not expect from this company what you can expect from a big company.

The problem is not in Ub3Games, but in you and your expectations.

Just play in game. Even now its the best, if you like group combat. I wrote few big articles in a lot pages, what is group pvp in DarkFall and how much sides pvp have.

Just play in game. Entertain yourself. Make ladder tourney system for server. Grind for all your skills. Get you best gear bag on villages. Make fun siege. Show game to noob, train him in pvp. Make video. Call friends to DF. Trade. Kill biggest mobs solo. Here is a lot things, what players can to do, actualy. No need to look at future, live at now.

It is known from psychology that people who live by the future are unhappy. As i remember, it was Fritz Perls, who first speak about this. And he is completly right. You like kids, that wait for toy a lot. And then they get toy, they play like 5-10 mins and drop it on floor and asking for new toy. This situation and with the patch. When it comes out - many will be happy for a couple of days, and then they will cry about a new patch.

Heal self is buffed. It's faster to cast than it was in old DFO it has faster cooldown than before, on magnitude I'm not entirely sure if it's any better, I'd guess not on feel of it but anyways it's buffed.

If no one sees the fucked up situation here you're beyond help. The unbalanced mobility is a huge issue

I agree on this one. Balance is fairly good other than as melee guy you have no escape if you commit to fight and get jumped more players as in mage you have so much better mobility you can flee mid fight too. Movement skills should work the same for all types of play.

Well, if you've been following the thread closely, you'd notice Ivar decided not to respond to my request for a fight but since you want to run your mouth about how bad he is, I'm saying he can beat you if you're going to be playing the rules you just stated earlier in the thread.

Any melee title will reduce amount of ticks for xfers. Like an example: i have 3 schoools+1h axe = 2 ticks. when i remove 1h, i get 3 ticks, but with same amount of stats in total. Armor\Staff will not give me this 3rd tick back. Spell Duration - can.
In same time, alteration mastery for mages can add extra tick for heals aswell, but totall number will be almost the same. Aswell, it can reduce amount of ticks for Heal Self and Lay On Hands\WB for 1-2 only. So you can heal self for 30 in 1 tick.

It all depend on duration and magnitude, old DFO formula, but it have no effect on totall damage even for AoE spells. Devs know about this and told me that it is not a problem.

I foud 2 ticks even better than 3 ticks, coz 2x18 heal me faster than 3x12

Does some one know what determines when you get three ticks for xfer instead of two?

Last night heard that there are many heavy style players with lower magic than me getting three ticks while I only get two. Is this because of potency penalties to magic? And if so how many can I have before I loose the extra tick?
