added 2/5 Tournament gonna be postponned to the 20th of may, we have 6 teams now atm and that simply isnt enough. 12 teams is a minimum amount to make the tournament entertaining to watch and particpate in.

added 17/5 I am no longer playing this game actively, my time is limited so i can not organise this tournament, if anyone wants to take over jump right in. Cya all maybe later inside this game....

Rules

- 1 mount each round per player. (under discussion: Do we allow B'horns yes or no, participants decide send me a pm with your vote after signing up)
- No transmuted weapons.
- No Armor,food or potion restrictions
- 50k entrance fee per team, have to be paid before the tournament starts.
- The duels will be held in a restricted area, going outside of the restricted area is not permitted.
- Winners and Looser bracket, if you loose 1 match you still have a chance to win the Tournament (round 1 plus loosers bracket will be BO1, if time allows it all matches will be BO3)


Pricepool

- 1st  Team wins 65% of pricepool (+sponsored content)
- 2nd Team wins 25% of pricepool
- 3rd  Team wins 10% of pricepool


Tournament area wil be near Bloodscar, mostly flat area with Strongboxes for extra cover and assigned starting positions.

We Simiran "clan of pirates" send out an open invitation to all brave souls of Agon to participate in the Tournament of Heroes. At the end of many grand tournaments we will find the true Hero of Agon. The first tournament will be held on the island of Yssam. Which one of you will be be worthy to call themselves the Hero of Yssam?

For any long distance travellers, you are welcome to stay with us in Tiquiya in preperation for the tournament. Contact any Simiran officer ingame to announce your stay so we can ensure a warm welcome. 

If you want to be a spectator at this tournament, you have to become a sponsor of the tournament. The entrance fee of 7.5k will be added to the grand price going to the Hero of Yssam. Place a reply in this thread to let us know your coming.

From what i gathered from people who left this game the lack of travel options is making them stop playing. I like the local banking and having to organise ahead is fun. The old DFO had a overkill off fast travel options so nerving those is a legit means of creating a more open world. Seeing the same faces at every hotspot and leaving the casual or starting players without any pvp content other then dying to the same eltist clan over and over will destroy the population 100%.

But now we see the same thing happen because of the nerve of travel options. When you die at a fight and have no means to regear or get a mount you have to travel great distances by foot. I do not have to explain that a huge penalty on death and the long walk of shame isnt adding any positivity or fun factor to this game. You login to have some fun, if your unlucky you get outnumbered heavily and then the time consuming walk of shame starts.

Simple solution, if you die you can revive at the stone you are bound too. So no bindstone recall which you can activivate and use to transport your stuff around but a simple naked revival of your char at the place you call Home. No more walk of shame it hurts the game more then it does good and the options to revive at bindstones near to the location of death can still be used if the player wants too.

Since i can not see anything bad from adding bindstone revival which will conflict with local banking or could be abused to transport gear i see no problems on adding this to the game. If i overlooked any side effect of implementing bindstone revival please discuss, maybe there are other or better idea's which can help us get rid of that stupid time consuming walk of shame.

We Simiran "clan of pirates" send out an open invitation to all brave souls of Agon to participate in the Tournament of Heroes. At the end of many grand tournaments we will find the true Hero of Agon. The first tournament will be held on the island of Yssam. Which one of you will be be worthy to call themselves the Hero of Yssam? The tournament will be consisted of the best out of 3 matches, which will eventually lead into a Grand Final. The prize will contain the combined entrance fee in addition to sponsored content.
We call upon the inhabitants of Yssam to secure the tournament area with us, let us as citizens of Yssam be an example in the true spirit of sportmanship and cooperation in finding the true Hero of Yssam. Furthermore we send out an open invitation to all clans living on the islands of Rubiyat, Cairn and Niffleheim to organize their version of the Hero of one of the great isles of Agon.  After we have found the Heroes of the Isles we can continue this Grand Tournament of Heroes with a Grand Finale in the centre of Agon.

Date for the Tournament has been set for the 15th of April, 18:00 GMT.

Round 1 wil start with a best of 1, the winners of round 1 will go ahead on the mainstage battlefield in a series of best of 3. The loosers of round 1 will move to the 2nd tournament area and start a series of knockout matches ending in a loosers final (best of 3) fighting for the chance of re-entering the main tournament.  Round 1 will be full loot, so be sure to bring a secondary bag to the tournament if you want to participate in the looser bracket.

After reading through the roadmap from Ub3r i would like to add some stuff too that list, it isnt real gamebreaking stuff but i am 100% sure it will add more quality of life and helps retain more players to the game. We all seen players leaving and population is almost halve then it was on launch. Some reasons for leaving can not be taken away since DF is not a game for everyone but some stuff can be fixed fast and easy and will make our Df life a lot easier.

- Title system, great option to make dedicated roles viable but is it user friendly?
After the title nerf in indev many titles are not viable or worth taking. Description on what the difference is between effects boosted by x title is unclear and raises more ???? then it gives answers.
Unlocking signature spells should be linked to level of the magic school not by waiting untill the clock says you waited long ennough.
Locking basic crafting behind a title is overkill, everyone should be able to make timber/ingots make 2 min dura food and make your own mounts. For more specialised crafting options a title might be logical. Ub3r should investigate how many dedicated crafters there are in the game, i get the idea that 90% of all crafters are alt accounts. If that is the case i suggest opening up even more crafting options to non crafting players.

- Market place
Local marketplace is not working, it should be regional. buying customers and crafters will use the marketplace more then they do now. So racial city's have 1 regional marketplace for that race, same for the chaos city's a shared marketplace could help making those selling and buying options more viable.

- Mob scaling
It is nice but feels broken. Not killing a lvl 40 gardaroc (but just spamming spells or arrows on it) gives higher xp rewards then solo killling a lvl 1 gardaroc. That is weird and isnt backed up by a logical sense of development. Current mob scaling makes solo players a dying way of playing this game, is that what a sandbox game is about?

- Village and med points
Each pve kill should give meditation points to give smaller clans and solo players an easy acces to med points. Med points and gold are both most efficiently farmed by doing villages, they should keep it as it is but just give alternatives ways in getting med points. Do we want to keep people playing and skilling up or do we want to create a big power gap between starting and veteran clans or players. An alternative way could be to introduced, quests like DF UW had. kill x amount then you get x amount of points. Village system is the reward for pvp players and quest rewards for pve players, with max cap on meditation i dont see any problems coming from adding more options in getting med points.

- Siege cost and the Zerg.
current mechanics make it so that if clan X has 100 players then siege cost included war dec is higher then a siege on a clan with 50 members. To protect us all from small clans being idiots and siegespam everything that problem is 100% solved by Ub3r but the current mechanic creates another problem. War declaration should be related to clan size but it should have a max cap set to it.
Do we want clans creating a zerg to defend or do we want more sieges? In a siege the bigger clans have a huge advantage on the battlefield, why double that effect? Zerging should not be encouraged and in the current siege mechanics set up it is a viable method in dodging a fight. Set cap for war dec to max of 50 members so zerging does not have the rewards it has nowadays.

Suggestions / Mage and PvP
Hey all,

Let me start by stating i fully understand the reasons Ub3r has for changing the mage gameplay, but the changes they made are not working at all. The magic patch is still coming but reading through their changelog i dont think they understand that there is no balance between melee and magic atm.

The damage output in medium and long range fights is good and in coordinated groups with disciplined team member mage gameplay is more then viable.  From the pvp i had this far against several clans i notice that only a very small amount of clans are playing organised, only the more experienced clans have leaders who can turn chaos into a strategy.
The close range fighting is were the unbalance is starting to show itselve, all spells which gave the mage a way to escape or stop the melee pusher from attacking are alll nerfed or are simply not longer viable.  A DF veteran mage will still kill a starting melee player but i didnt post this to start a discussion about the experience gap between starting and veteran player.

- All knock up spells are overnerved, even a magma storm which always was good for a nice and good knock up is just a simple push to the side. Without having a knock up or stop effect spell there is no way you can stop a melee player from getting close to you.
- Stormblast without super high magnitude robes etc and super staff does nothing for the caster and is called by many air mages a useless spell. Overnerved maybe?
- Ray charge up time is very very long, why spend so long casting to get higher damage when a melee player with archery can get 3-4 hits on you during your waiting for your max damage super spell.
- Stoneskin drains so much mana that you cant play as a mage when having that buff active. Same counts for most buffs it is not worth having low mana regen just to get like 1-2 damage reduction.

I can give you multiple examples of other schools or buffs where the pure damage is still there (for long and medium ranged fights) but the lack of viable defense buffs and spells make the pvp unbalanced and not enjoyable.

Gear and ammo cost between mage and melee is were it gets really weird and unbalanced. A mage has the cheaper gear at least that should be the case since we dont need large amounts of rares or/and iron but Ub3r doesnt agree. An adept robe set cost an insane amount of elemental cloth and some thick leather, the total weight of the materials vs the crafted outcome is incredibly weird. The amount of mobs droppping the cloth is so small compared to mobs who drop the melee or archery gear that there is no level playing field between mage and melee player. What Ub3r did in last patches was changing the mat cost for arrows so skilling up archery which was allready cheap compared to magic skilling is even cheaper now.

I hope for a more balanced game then i see before me now, change can bring many good things but only if leds to new challenges. After playing mage for a few weeks now i feel the new mage is a product of idea's what they didnt want mage to be instead of what they wanted to be the new role of mage's in this version.

I will wait for the next magic overhaul and when it doesnt get better i gonna reroll to melee archery since that is clearly the type of playing which got most love in this version. I really enjoy playing support/healer but without any form of viable defensive spells pvp  becomes a game where i constantly need to begone or shrapnell away to get some distance between me and the attackers. I dont enjoy running away in a pvp game, playing mage would be so more skilll based and more fun if spells have defensive options aswell.

@Ub3rgames Do you really do your own testing? Change that please or ask a few good melee players to join you and show you how OP melee and archery style of playing is atm. The same players who played hybrid mage in old version now play melee/archery so nothing has changed the same player will still be better then the rest, so nothing has changed in the end.

Suggestions / Basic Survival crafting
Hey all,

A lot of the basic survival crafting items are locked behind a title now. With basic survival items i mean, basic food, bags, arrows, camp fire etc. I like the fact that we will have dedicated crafters in this game, but basic survival items behind a title is a total overkill in my opinion.

I even think making a mount or a Raft should be open for all since that will add more mobility to a game which allready is low due to no bindstone or runestones.

Hey all, i am back !!

Been playing DFO for ages and just started on DND server. So many memories and places revisited in the last few days just amazing. I never thought i would come back since DFO was broken and Aventurine played us all for years, years waiting for something which never came.  But here are my first experiences on DND server.

After playing for only 5 minutes i allready started with a smile and a big WTF.  The WTF is simple, Aventurine didnt do jackshit to DFO for ages, DND fixed so many of the old mistakes and performance issues that i started thinking i want my sub money back Aventurine. Well trying to get money back from Greece is a hard thing these days, so i instantly gave up on that idea. The Smile came from all the controls being as they should be, no need for macro etc.  etc etc etc. The population is very low atm so couldnt test any pvp this far but that will be experienced soon enough.

Diving in the game and community....
Progression is better but lacks diversity, instead of casting one spell a thousand times maybe sub divide that into smaller steps which also opens more and more. Start with Rend then needles then etc etc. Each step closer and rewarding the player each step on the way. All starter spells and schools should not be bought for gold but unlock when reaching a level, really reward the player if he or she progresses. Buying a magic school and the spells in that can be different in that regard. Dont remove a grind at the start but plz make it exiting and a learnfull experience.

Same poor old trolls still mad at the world spewing their opinions as they are facts. I like a good troll but some things are still as dumb as ever. Ingame i havent seen or heared many people since Global chat is down???? Why is that? I want to be able to communicate and maybe reconnect to some old friends and i can not do that. Ub3r? Open up the global chat plz !! making all red players incapable of reading or typing on Global will fix most toxicity on chat so no real reason to not have that back.
I dont like the whole DnD versus RoA discussion. I wish them both the best and may the best one win or even better may both succeed.

My suggestions:
- Local banking and no bindstone recalling will not be the answer to many problems.  It is a negative solution to a positive problem. No bindstone recall will make sure lower tiered clans will have no option in getting from A to B during sieges. Higher tier clans will have runestones all over the place so they will have same movement options as in old DFO only for a higher price. In the end the amount of gold you have will detemine how free you are to move around the map. Solution? If player A wants to go to a holding on the other side of the map or back to their racial capital they should be able too but only once a day. That way a starting player can afford moving around and not be hindered by having to cross through miles of hostile territory just to join your friends. Set the price to X amount of gold or a runestone maybe. I hope i made my point clear that no bindstone recalling favours hardcore playstyle versus casual playstyle. Ub3rgames needs to rethink their vision on this and make a system which does not favour any playstyle but is neutral to all.
Local banking is something i am exited for but it is connected to the way you transport yourselve. Runestones are no help since you can not be over your weight limit to use it so if the amount of goods is heavy then normal transport is needed. But will they transport something when the risk is so high? Why not keep the mats locally stored, craft what you need, and runestone the crafted stuff back to base. Again local banking is great for Df but how we transport over the map is dune the same as old DFO only for a higher price.
Why a negative solution for a positive problem? I get the idea that Ub3rgames wants to prevent some things happening on their server compared to DFO. That in itselve is a negative stance towards your own game, what a better mindset would be is to set the game up in such a way that there are less rewards if you play as a trolling red player. The whole raidstone thing will make sure lawless players will have to farm to be able to raid, they will never do that, they will stay on RoA which does not want to restrict movement speed or banking at all. The chance of blue players feeling restricted in movement and exploring can become a bigger problem then the red player playstyle. This is a sandbox game never forget that, people like the freedom of choice how to play the game. Counting on the racial warfare to be better then the style of combat during DFO is a huge leap of faith. It could just end in people all choosing race A since that is easiest way to play, thereby loosing all balance between racial warfare which can be gamebreaking.

Since there are 2 version atm it is hard to not compare but in the end i wish both versions the best and hope they both make it. DnD is taking a huge risk to make the old concept of DF work and introducing new concepts at the same time. My advice to DnD is to not go overboard with restricting but stick too making the game better then it was. If you want to turn the whole game around then its better to start over and make your own game unrelated to DF in whatever context or concept.
If a writer or composer or any artist for that matter creates something then the moment you finish it, it doesnt belong to you anymore. In fact you could even state that as a creator you have no ownership at all since what you make only comes alive if people grasp the context of your creation. If you focus too much on details in your creation the natural flow between parts of your creation falls apart.

This might be a little philosphical ending and my english isnt the greatest but i hope i made my points are understood. I hope DnD learns from mistakes from the past but also learns from the correct conclusions Aventurine made during DF development. Do not take too big of challenge on your shoulders since most challenges will be with us all for our whole lives and not centered in a moment of clarity.
