@ Adun: I admit that I did not read all your recent posts/motivations for being upset for the timing of the release as I have limited time right now.

I myself hoped for a more finished product and for when RoA would (likely) shut down before release. However I know that I have a limited perspective of all the variables that affect such decisions so I have to trust them.

Very seldom in life you can make a decision when all variables are, in a specific moment, clearly positive...sometimes you have to get the best shot you can since our life (or current life) is not endless and it might well be that the opportunity for the perfect shot will never come or even any chance to shoot at all might disappear as night falls and you missed that one chance.

One thing I will say, maybe U3er can (and should)  work on a more solid presentation/launch visual/marketing campaign.....but maybe they are doing so already and we do not know.

Please let us know if you need any cast for any eventual shoot.

Give them credit, cross fingers, let us put whatever support we can behind them and let us see what happens.

This beta has been dead long enough, let us entice our friends to test DND, without the insane grind. With launch around the corner, there's no reason to no life a beta.

No, i get this bug 1 time too. I mounted a mount, and he cant move fast, like he in water with water jump sound, when i dismounted i cant move at all, can knock myself with spells but cant move. I asked teammates to kill me, they killed me with bow. And i get insta death like in water. So its strange and ultra rare bug...

For flavors, we went with the magic overhaul approach instead of locking. Secondary effects are there, but weaker.
That way it gives a sort of showcase of what a deeper commitment could provide.

Sorry, but to us it is hard to understand how you could reach the conclusions you have.
If this is to be your last post, then it will be caused by, and source of, incomprehension.

What kind of expectations did you have for InDev?
If you trusted our judgement of what flaws Darkfall had, why not trust our judgement here too?

On expectations:
The reason we took the license was to start with a local banking Darkfall, and then build on it towards the described long term vision.
While plans have changed, we've always made clear that InDev would only see a small fraction of the overall roadmap and that it solely existed for people to bide their time.
It was sold as a pre-season. As a product, it was successful enough to give us the luxury to delay for over a year.

This never changed.
We've only added to what would be in at release and removed the cost when we decided not to deliver on the expiration date.
First it was the strict minimum for a wipe, but then it became a few extra features for a smoother launch.
What we will end up delivering is at least three times more than announced.
It includes mostly the community's feedback during InDev's life cycle, addressing early frustration that will not be there come launch.

The bottom line is that the people who played InDev are fundamentally NOT testers. They are customers.
These early-adopters are a part of our playerbase we very much need to keep happy in order to survive as a business.
Let's just hope we have not abused of people's patience irremediably.

About judgement:
We have repeatedly observed a disconnect between the perception of veteran players and what new players really experience.
It is a though pill to swallow. It essentially means we have to tell people that want the best for the game that they are incorrect.
However, we have to follow the truth, or as much of it that we know.

We can assure you that we are certain of what we are saying.
InDev has had a steady trickle of new players and we've done blind-testing for more in-depth play-session analysis.
What we know is that the very early game experience, while not perfect, is not a relevant exit point. Neither is the interface.

This is not to say that they are perfect, or even good. What it means however is that they are not a blocking point for release.
Higher priority exit points existed later in the gameplay experience, and impacted all players. That's where retention issues were.

Overall, pre-release development is not finished.
There are general issues of polishing we still need to wrap up in parallel to finishing the last core features, but the foundation is set.
As we said: we've seen stability and growth in an environment that was essentially not expected to.

It is time to make the jump.

His head is there.
He was not hit by water spells for quite a bit before mounting up, he would have only run out of stamina if he forgot to eat food.

My bet his mount was slow walking because he was crouching. Common mistake in distress, better luck next time.
