Forced shadows kills the game for many laptop players.  Would be a bad move.
I hate to seem cold, if you have a REAL old system I understand but forced shadows, or finding some other way to allow for using them as a "stealth" feature has always been something I hoped to see in Darkfall.  It would be a net gain for the majority that play it imo.

I'm using an Inter core I5, 1st gen at 2.67 and turbo mode at 3.2 max. 8gb of ddr3 ram and an ssd. I bought this at 2010, 7 years old system (except the ssd). I can tell you that I couldn't play pvp, have shader 3 AND shadows on and feel the game run smooth. And that's because DF only uses 1 fucking core only!! If they made it so that it can use all my cores, then sure, it'd be a piece of cake! But until then many people like me would quit...
I am using an i5 2500 released in q1 2011, i have a 970 gpu and 16 gig of ram, so I have upgraded, as able over the years. I see now that this thread has covered most of my thoughts, but suffice it to say that with the system I have, and most likely have better, it would be near zero impact.

GW1 best game ever. If we ever had gw1 skill diversity and balance in df it would be best game ever made.
Its impossible tho.

@Ub3rgames  Far too much of a change.  You've made it too much Magefall.  Mobility is just too all-important to remove it completely from any "class". 

Recommend starting by giving Heavies an encumbrance-free Begone.  Mages will still have the advantage of Stormblast, Launch, and Telekinesis.  Agreed that mages should have more utility, but this change is just too much.

the issue to me is this... heavies risk more, I understand this. The armor and weapons cost a small fortune,but it makes them VERY must harder to kill.    Mages if you can close on them,, are paper.. as they should be...

if the heavies maintain the mobility of the mages.. mages=corpses

so.. maybe the fix is not within the current structure? maybe we need to make pots A LOT stronger? but on longer cool downs or some such.

or rethink mages as a whole, if you ( and not just You mind ya) want heavy armor sorts to move this way with the advantage of being in heavy armor then mages would need to hit WAAAAAY harder while in robes.. or some such

perhaps remove the magic defense from heavy armor?  may it melee/arrow specific..... (just throwing out mad ideas) but the idea is to make each path viable.. and MAYBE even specialized.... one thing i never understood is why players feel specializing is a bad thing.

its your option to be very-very good against one thing and mediocre vrs the rest rather then good against all. etc etc

Love what you have done there BUT it raises some concerns over whats not on that list.  One of the primary reasons we signed on with ND was this list.

 
 
    -In their racial alliance territory, blue players will received various bonus linked to racial wars fronts.

    -Racial NPC cities will rent cheap apartments to blue players.

    -Racial NPC cities will have Market Place where blue players can hire vendors to sell their wares

    -Quests rewards are tiered by comparing the duration of a character's blue status.

    -You will loose racial buffs and the ability to rent / hire in NPC cities if your clan is allied with ARAC clans.

    -Being part of ARAC clan will make you go rogue permanently.

    -War front will be New Dawn's entry point for large scale PvP.

    -It will allow new player, casual or smaller group to experience large scale combat without the burden of war status.

   - Two kind of front will be added to the game : Borderlands war front (between each racial territory) and Central war front
       (in the middle of Agon).
 
    -Alignment gains and penalties are doubled on a war front.

    -War front will have capturable objectives

    -Racial war bonuses are only for "patriotic" players and payers of the same race of the territory or an allied race.

    -Blue players will be consider as "patriotic" when in the last 10 hours of game time he has gained "commision" by other
      means than player trade.
 
    -Commission is a currency designed to balance out our racial wars. You gain more when your faction is losing, but you
     have more racial buffs when wining.

    -Blue players may buy war bonds at their capital city and be considered patriotic for some time.

   - Blue players under the newbie protection are considered "patriotic" for the duration of their protection + the regular 10     hours

    -War front can be captured with Watchtowers, meaning that racial territory can be pushed forward by enterprising RAC clans.

    -ARAC clans or alliances can capture war fronts too, and will gain the buffs for themselves only instead of sharing it with a race
     alliance.

The Elves weren't crouching or trying to be stealthy... half the time they were AFK, do you have 9 alts now, nerd? Lmao.

Not sure it was clear with the way the vid was put together ( thanks for that btw ..great vid) BUT there was anotehr party involved, so when you see some of them elves aiming the wrong way for example thats who they were shooting/looking at :P

LET ME STRESS-at this time we are taking it very light and fun! Learn the game ( or relearn it ) explore the new changes and use this time to prepare for launch. We play primarily between 7pm-midnight EST, however we do have some vampires in our ranks, and others that keep odd hours).  IF this works for you, read on :)

Court of Evermore- The court has returned in new form. In New Dawn we are an order of noble minded souls that will do what we can to establish law and bring peace to the Mirdain regions of Agon. We are NOT a trade oriented clan, we are the protectors of our ancient lands, and will focus on such, I can direct you to friendly or allied clans if you are seeking such.

We have a rich history as a guild and look forward to forging the next chapter of our story here in New Dawn.
Forgive the wall of text, but you should know what you are signing up for.

All members of the Court will follow the following guidelines:

There must be order, for from Chaos comes darkness. We will be the light.

The Court bleeds as one, harm one of us you injure us all.

The Court is all, What I own you own, I will not place greed before the well being of my brethren.

We shall fear not the wicked, numbers mean less than spirit and a true cause.

The weak should be pitied, but is no excuse for wickedness.

Protect the Innocent, that cannot defend themselves

Peace may be made with those who have wronged us only so long as the inner council approves by two thirds vote.


OOC < out of character >rules

Firstly, we require that you be at least 18 years of age, 20 + even better.

We do ask that your character that seeks to join us has a name which is fitting to the game.
Examples Bjorn, Redjake, Valdron, even Angrybill all ok. nothing here is offensive, just rpish or fun.

Asshat, Pimpmassa, Grieferprime etc all unwelcome simply as they either don't fit or are in someway offensive.

Try to keep in mind what we are representing as a guild when we make such rules. We want our actions, appearance, and even names to help reflect what we are at our core. Thank you for understanding, and realize if you are new to the game this takes a very small investment of time to restart if your name is a concern. We may even help you do so.


We encourage RP encounters whenever happening upon a group or a group happens upon us. We will never simply jump directly into battle without speaking to you unless you are a known enemy to our kin. (i.e. Known PKS or simply a guild currently at war with us). If you are a guild that does not show us similar intentions then we will not guarantee such actions and may be forced to defend ourselves or attack without such attempts.

Do not mistake us for not enjoying PvP; we just do not see that as the only purpose of this game. We do love to PvP and encourage it but we just seek it in a different manner.

We do not allow any type of out of character verbal attacks. Any member caught taking part in any such confrontations in game or on the message boards will be subject to immediate banishment. As a matter of fact, only leadership will be allowed to post on the message boards in the name of Court of Evermore!
No raging in game or in vent. If you cannot remain civil, and act as an adult we don't need you. Anger we get, we all flip out a bit but don't go attacking your friends and pissing everyone off.

Avoid smack talk in game. If you want to enrage someone that has wronged you, rp at them. You want to see someone flip out? Watch them explode with lame nerd insults while you stoke the flames of their anger with comments like,
"I pity the lost soul of a wretch like you, I pray you find respite from the torment of your dark path one day, but for now, burn under the wrath of our righteous Illumination!" Or my favorite," Silence lowborn dog, Monkeigh are at their best when they are Silent"
 etc.

and so on.. be clever.

<A note to other clans, any that are true in keeping to the alliance of Mirdain, Dwarves and Men, Should have no issues with us, and may even be seen as friends. Arac clans will be KOS, as will enemy races, however interaction with "respected foes" may lead to more interesting encounters.>

there are more new players in NA timezone because there are more people migrating from RoA and others who neither played RoA nor ND but learned about the game from other people / roa marketing.




Well not saying you are wrong, but in our case, we simply got bored waiting for other games, and so decided to see what the darkfall projects looked like. After comparing the visions of the two being produced New Dawn was our clear choice. We do not even mind the pop levels TOO much at the moment as its giving us time to shed the rust and skill up in peace for a while. Which we hope will prepare us for launch. 

Also curious about old vets... two that were in our clan in DFO were Aristos Giannes and Endaar, Anyone know if they still play? I have lost contact info for them.  They were one of the main forces in our efforts to hunt down and punish Goblin Shaman in the npc cities if any of you remember him.

Anyway  see you in game!

I remember CoE from UW. They were peaceful Mirdain only RP people, that is why they probably didn't chase you down and kill you.  That and them being old as fuck by now, no offense. I bet they still use Ventrillo..


Yes we have been around a long time, as CoE in DF:UW, Shadowbane, and several other games ( in DFO we were Daeriath Midranell ).

And yes we are peaceful in general so long as you are not one of our many foes, in Darkfall this would be dogs, orks, alfar and any that worship the false god Arac!   In general we plan to stick to the elf lands after launch, should have plenty to keep us busy within this forest, someone must keep it pure!

(( and LOL yes we still use vent, have tried TS, Discord, etc.. just dont like the feel/sound))  :P

Lets say i'm a dedicated harvester... Yeah,  right, but lets pretend there would be such ppl. I harvest node after node and my stamina goes down. I'm casting mana to stamina but... It doesnt skill up without mobs.
How am i supposed to raise that spell when i'm a combat-free character?

Use food often and it will offset your stam problems by a huge margin

Granted..BUT a new system when this game came out had no issues running it on full, it was older systems in 09 that had issues :)

i think what we can ask is.. do they have the new art that was planned for Darkfall 2010?  this was the human rework

if they DO have this stuff in hand it would save them a ton of work, if not they can get to it if and when they can, based on success at release eh?

Also I think stability, and performance outweigh pretty graphics for most of us. So lets be sure it all WORKS well before making it LOOK great :)
