Your top two features from other PvP MMOs
What are the top two features from other PvP MMOs that you think could/should fit into DND?

Wall of text is fine but please summarize your Top Two at the start for readability!


I missed some of the best PvP MMOs (UO and AC) but I'll still take a stab:

#1 - Objective Captures from DAoC and WoW.  Each side would assemble and then clash at one of several of the Capture Points.  I think some flavor of this would be enjoyable for Racial Warfronts.  Tons of details to sort out beyond the scope of this thread, of course.

#2 - rare Smelting stations from Mortal Online.  Two crafting stations existed in the wilds of MO that increased yields from smelting of rare ores.   They were close enough to certain player cities that those players had an advantage, but far enough that other  players had enough incentive to "go for it!!"  I remember many a night going at off-peak hours solo, with a King's ransom of rare ores, white-knuckled the whole time.

Break into enemy prison and escort an NPC back to racial land (basically every MMO quest).  Our Elf prince is hold up by dogs in some stinky stockade up North in Stonehold cave.

Reality Check - Rise of Agon : Community designed, Tedium free, Elite approved  but struggled to field 25 players for first grand anniversary event...now asking for donations.  Global banking,  Instant travel is not helping lol

Sounds cool.  Maybe a system message goes out when it's released, and after a certain time it's location shows on everyone's map, to allow interception if the rescuers don't take the most direct route back?

Yes, in general I think most of the objectives involving racial/war front needs to have server wide system message to have high participants from both sides.

Dynamic racial War fronts of two groups of npc's fighting it out and you can join your side to complete a scaling Quest that's dynamic to that location.

I've seen this attempted in a few MMOs but Warhammer online was the only game that really knocked it out the park and probably the coolest feature I can think of.

Knocked it out the park? LoL 90% of the time there were 2 groups of opposing sides just going for uncontested keeps and rotating those to farm RvR. Game was dogshit.

That was part of the dogshit realm vs realm. I'm talking about out in the pve world where you would come across a skirmish line as a new player with two NPC sides that had a evolving quest line to kill the other side NPC's and while you were killing the NPC leadership against your side there was players from the opposing faction trying to kill yours. Wasn't part of that keep system they had.

And by knocking it out of the park I meant their Quest system where you could walk up and automatically become part of the evolving storyline that included pve&pvp
