Is the Titles patch live?  And folks are testing it?

Edit:  It's a straight-up question.  I haven't been keeping up.

The game needs to be delayed for at least a couple more months until they can introduce content that has never been in the game before, else they will suffer the same fate as ROA. Patching and promising these huge content/feature updates after launch is not a good sign and eventually people will get bored of waiting for something substantial to change and quit.
They already have introduced content that has never been in the game before. And are about to introduce more content that's never been in the game before (and yes, before launch).

As for more new content, new players to Darkfall don't need new content: the game has many months of content as it is (and as it was in DFO 2009). As for us vets, there's plenty of new stuff to be getting to grips with. And in the month or two that it takes for us to work through things, the devs will be working on yet more new content.

But guaranteed there will always be unhappy forumfallers. That's something that will never change.

What? Shit that should have been changed in dfo like mob scaling and QOL? Those are nice and all but should have been done in alpha and beta should have been when new content and titles introduced, not week away from launch. Its been almost a year since ROA launched and they are still doing balancing and core mechanic changes to the game. They should have had content patches flowing by now. Instead they are grasping for players retainment.

That is the problem ROA ran into as well. They released too early thinking the QOL changes and xml changes here and there would hold people's attention. Pretty much everyone quit waiting for new additions to the game because we've all played this already for years. Not to mention the best pvpers that would nutcup and crush any new player that thought about playing the game.

Do people remember that local banking was in until a few weeks before DF1 release, when they changed their mind and went global?

Maybe @Ub3rgames are just being nostalgic;)

Fuck local banking, I want my titles!

However, you have to take into account why we are introducing local banking.
In New Dawn, its main purpose is to be a convenience feature.

We have no plans on delaying the release.
There is a buffer period between this coming patch and release large enough to handle any issues.
Any remainder time will be spent on additional changes, with an emphasis placed on alignment to alleviate community concerns.

Note however that after the coming patch, the game will launch with all its cornerstone features:
- Most vanilla Darkfall features
- Reduced perception of grind
- Alignment changes
- Titles
- Local banking
- Market places
- Mount inventories
- Spawn scaling
- and a lot more

InDev was the soft-launch, and now we're giving a permanent world for people, and momentum, to build upon.
Remember that the plan was always to release right after local banking, with the strict minimum for a wipe.
We have feature creeped quite a bit and went beyond the initial plan. We now need to allow the game to grow.

After release, our focus will be on content, because that is the time to add new things.
A completed MMO is a dead MMO. These type of games, especially the ones with a subscription, are development services.
You essentially pay for upcoming features. Doing the boring but necessary changes first allows us to only have momentum inducing changes to do in the future, which will make players happy to pay and play.

Let's not forget that Darkfall is rather unique and "new", its existing content and appeal is already strong on its own.
With many of its flaws addressed, it should be a solid contender for player's heart and time.

Darkfall: New Dawn is currently being covered throughout the online press more and more: the word is being pushed out there.
We have reached active/concurrent players that we had not reached since early InDev and the month of December has been our second best month in terms of sales. So on these fronts, we're not worrying much.
In addition, we've started getting in touch with influencers to draw attention to the free trial. It would have been a waste prior.

Speaking of free trial, it will come after the coming patch, once it has been stabilized.
An announcement/newsletter will come with the starting and ending dates.
Note that InDev will close a few days prior to launch so that we can test the carry over mechanics and get time to adjust should there be an issue.
The Darkfall: New Dawn Dev Team.

About Watchtowers:
Watchtowers will be swapped in terms of priority for more alignment/racial changes.
Given the reaction of people to the release of the roadmap and the following ever present concerns regarding alignment/racial wars, we believe we need to look at that topic first.
Both subjects are of similar scope development wise, so we can really only attempt one of them at a time.

Note however that we have had to extend development for titles to tweak based on the feedback we received since the title list.
Our buffer time for pre-release extra features is lowered, so there are "nice to have" things we won't be able to do.
We'll see how the patch goes. Less issues means more bonuses.

For loot changes, a portion of it is in the next patch. The apocalypse part.
The rebuilding part will be over time and based on feedback on what needs to be made more interesting after the destruction.

When you have time can we please have confirmation of the Indev closure date, which at least a heads up?
