Reshade 3.3.2 preset
Hello guys,

I propose the Reshade 3.3.2 preset I use. It's a limited injection that sharpen the textures, work on the lighting subtly and add SMAA.

You only need to download the shaders: SMAA, Bloom,  Ambient Light and Adaptive Sharpen. That way it will be faster to load when logging in. It costs me 12 FPS so I linked the same on/off button to Bloom,  Ambient Light and Adaptive Sharpen to turn it off if needed. SMAA has almost no impact.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Enjoy. Feedback is welcome.

Too lazy to link images. Sorry. Anyway it is better to experience it in game to see if you like it or not.

Wrong directory. See this thread https://forums.darkfallnewdawn.com/index.php/topic,2652.msg48672.html#msg48672

You need to install it in the data folder.

You have to target the Darkfall application in the data folder.

Then download only the shaders that you will use for a lighter installation.

If you want to use the preset i suggest, log in game, and create a dummy preset. Then log off and  copy/paste the code i posted in the dummy preset file created in your data folder.

Here is Day time.  Youtube compression is lowering the quality a bit.

Something that I just learned recently but I have never used my entire time gaming until this week is you can enable Nvidia color palette instead of the default window color palette on the desktop color settings tab,  the setting digital Vibrance does this exact thing for night time and the Nvidia color palette makes the game look very nice

I personnaly think that Ub3r put vibrance and contrast on a good spot. As they explained, it could benefits from regional/contextual tweak, but it is globaly good. That's why i did not touch it in the preset.

I thought i did what everyone says for the install... Please help me out here before i attempt again.
I downloaded reshade exe.
Ran it and selected darkfall.exe inside the date folder.
Chose dx9 files
Ran my lobby.exe to log in
Clicked play, lobby closes, game never launched.

Next, once i get this working, where do i paste the config?

you need to paste files directly to the darkfall folders

3rd shader is shitty, this plastic glow is crap.
1st shader and ultra settings is the best.

The preset is meant to be used with shadows on.

It would be a bit paradoxal to use it with 1st shader.
